Today's inspiration

I'm sharing a card with you today that looks more than the effort it took to make.

Its about keeping your colours co-ordinated (so easy with Stampin' Up!) and I think no more than 3 colours is perfect as long as there's one neutral (in most cases for me anyway! - I'm a bit fussy though...) and its also about creating dimension. You do that by layering up  and I find that sponging the edges of my shapes helps to really give the card depth and visual appeal.

Try it yourself! I've included some details below, but feel free to comment with any questions.

The card I've made is using the "hearts a flutter" stamp set and co-ordinating framelits dies and "beautiful wings" embosslits and "flower fusion" sizzlits dies.

The colours I've used are the in colour "Crisp Cantaloupe" and from the neutrals colour family "Soft suede" and "Very Vanilla" The base card is "naturals white" which I've scored with the scoring tool.

"Naturals white" is such a great base card material because it goes with everything.

I've embellished with a bit of ribbon and punched shapes, pearls and a butterfly brad (trying to use up retired bits & pieces!).

Have fun!

Inge :)

You can buy Stampin' Up products online!

I've noticed a bit more traffic on my blog than usual the last couple of days thanks to a link posted by Rhonda at http://down---to---earth.blogspot.com.au/ (can't wait to check out her new book she's just finishing). Her blog is essentially about living simply and has all sorts of great info and tips.

So if you are checking out my blog for the first time - welcome! I usually just aim my posts at people who live near me and can attend my classes etc, but now anyone can purchase stampin' Up products online (www.stampinup.com). You don't need a demonstrator to do this, but if you use the demonstrator directory to look me up - you can choose me as your demonstrator and get the preferred price (instead of the more expensive retail price). Alternatively contact me for a hostess code, pop it in the space when you order and that will do the same thing.

I've been busy creating today coming up with ideas for my Stamp-a-stack next friday. Here's a few of the cards I made.

Apologies for the terrible quality of my photos! The light wasn't as good as I had hoped, I normally take my photos in daylight. Anyway hopefully it's a bit of inspiration for you. If you're in Hobart and would like to join in my classes, or book your own workshop, just check out the details to the right and contact me to book.

There are links to the current catalogues in the right sidebar too if you'd prefer to purchase online.
In there you will find stamp sets, punches, dies and accessories that are completely colour co-ordinated for a perfect finish every time!

I love Stampin' Up! They make it so easy...
